Brazilian crossover thrash trio Black Pantera have made raging against white supremacy into a finely honed artform, so it’s no surprise they’d have the perfect song for this moment. Their latest, like their best songs is stripped down, direct, and full of righteous fire. “I Can’t Breathe” rises from a plea to a threat, as the de Gama brothers build from a minimalist sludgy riff to a full-throttle hardcore assault. The video by Leonardo Ramalho like the song is straight and to the point. This is not the time for mincing words, and Black Pantera’s latest is a call to action.
